Tulsa Public Schools Cinnamon Rolls

Everyone remembers the school cinnamon rolls!

Ingredients:
1 pkg. yeast
1 1/2 c. water
3/8 c. sugar
3/8 c. shortening, melted
1 egg
6 Tbsp. powdered milk
5 c. flower
1 tsp. salt
Cinnamon Mix
Combine the following ingredients thoroughly:
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon.
Directions:
Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water. Add melted shortening and beaten egg. Add flour, powdered milk and salt; mix thoroughly.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until double.
Work down and roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush with butter, sprinkle with Cinnamon Mix and roll up lengthwise. Cut into 12 (2 1/2-inch) rolls. Place on greased tray; let rise until double.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 20-25 min.
Brush with powdered sugar glaze (1/2 box powdered sugar combined with 1/4 c. melted butter and enough water or milk to give it a spreading consistency).
